About the CD

The Richmond Heart & Soul Revue is a concept that began in the heart and soul of Buzz Montsinger and Bruce Olsen, two longtime friends and musicians from Richmond, Virginia. Together they began the project as a tribute to the genuine soul music of their era and to the good times that were had by all when the bands they played in as teenagers would perform at Richmond dancehall classics like the Wigwam and Tantilla Gardens. People of all ages would come out in groves to celebrate and dance to the genuine music of the era, and life was good.  With the addition of well known fellow musicians, Steve Bassett and Randy Moss to the project, they worked as a team to bring together a core of Richmond "Soulmen" who have been the backbone of R&B music in the Richmond area the past 40 years.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all of the awesome musicians on this album who gave their time and talent to create a "one of its kind" collector's item, with roots in soul, rhythm and blues. We hope this album appeals to a wide range of music lovers and that good ol' soul music continues to be made for years to come.
